Introducing... Emma Crosby, TribaSpace ambassador

Just last week we introduced you to Tina Husemann, TribaSpace’s Düsseldorf based ambassador. Today we are excited to announce her new United Kingdom counterpart, Emma Crosby. A seasoned fashion professional, some of you may know Emma as the Managing Director of London a la Mode and consultant for Vauxhall Fashion Scout.
We caught up with Emma to find out her plans as a TribaSpace ambassador.
How and why did you get involved in the fashion industry?
I've been involved in fashion from my teenage years when I began as a Saturday girl in retail. I'm now approaching a 25-year milestone which has covered visual merchandising, buying, merchandising, brand development and sales management with multi-brand showrooms, brand and new designers. Since 2009 I've focused on the sales and development of young British designers through London a la Mode, and as a seasonal consultant with Vauxhall Fashion Scout.
Fashion is a huge part of my life – it's a vibrant and challenging roller coaster ride, which is why I've stayed in the industry. I consider myself lucky to have been able to grow in many different areas and to have the opportunity to utilise the knowledge gained.
Where do you think online fashion business is headed?
The online fashion business continues to grow season on season. From a sales perspective, independent retailers, department stores and groups all have an online presence, and most have their own e-commerce sites to maximise sales potential and extend reach (whether to domestic or international markets). It provides convenient and time saving options to the end consumer, and as long as this is backed up by a good service it is a great thing.
Any business that doesn't embrace or utilise it is really is missing out – we're living in a demanding society that requires immediate supply, whether that supply is information, product or advice.
The Internet is simply a giant across any business or social discipline. As we're living in a society where people are juggling so many aspects of their lives, anything that can be handled online (from banking, paying bills or shopping for groceries) has to be embraced.
How do you perceive TribaSpace?
TribaSpace is an amazing and unique package! The software platform that has been developed offers all fashion disciplines an excellent tool for day-to-day business management. I'm still finding new ideas to promote, link and manage my own business through TribaSpace, there are so many beneficial facets to it.
What do you hope to achieve as a TribaSpace ambassador?
Foremost to spread the word and make more TribaFriends – new designers, big brands, PR, events and sales professionals are all welcome. From there, I'm planning on TribaTraining to make sure our UK counterparts can use the site to its full capacity.
