Fashion From the Sleep is Commercial Crew

Combining a retail shopfront and atelier, the doors to the PASTPRESENT concept shop in Berlin’s Mitte district are now open for business, following an eagerly awaited launch last fortnight.

The distinctive space is the latest project conceived by shop owner and Italian fashion designer Livio Graziottin, and multimedia collective Sleep is Commercial. Working collaboratively in Berlin, the group of designers, artists, music producers, performers and DJs that shape Sleep is Commercial have continued their foray into fashion; originally established as a record label in 2009, Sleep is Commercial presented their first collection, People on Sunday, as part of Premium Berlin this summer.

Fitted out with industrial décor, the shop is also home to a small, handpicked stable of designers, including the menswear line 24/7 Suits by Livio Graziottin, km/a by Katha Harrer and pieces by Moga e Mago. Additionally there are distinct vintage garments and sample prototypes to be discovered, collected by Graziottin over the last 20 years while travelling and working in the fashion business.

Not only operating as a shopfront, PASTPRESENT uniquely contains the atelier of 24/7 Suits and Sleep is Commercial, making for a noteworthy retail experience and point of difference for both local and international clientele. And while some garments from the Sleep is Commercial collection are manufactured in Italy, the tag on reminds us that each piece is ‘dreamed in Berlin’.
