Vogue.it is featuring an interview of Paris based American Sculptor Sean McGinnis announcing the artist next exhibition project commissioned by the [Johanssen Art Gallery]http://www.johanssen-gallery.com/exhibition/upcoming/) which will premiere on 28 October 2011.

Synopsis:
Sean McGinnis creates sculptures that are essentially made of vibrantly colored strings and ropes which are articulated, entwined and woven into a complex web to ultimately create architectural arches or hybrid forms. These abstract sculptures defy gravity and often contrast with the environment within which they evolve; whether urban or in the
middle of a luxuriant nature.

The Exhibition consists of two giant strings installations that will cover the main entrance as well as the vast corridor of the gallery space.

A series of miniatures sculptures and limited edition signed prints will also be up for sales.

Sean McGinnis is also currently working on a monumental project entitled “The Cathedral of the Wind” which will be unveiled in 2013.
